Android is growing globally, iOS - build on momentum

Recent sales figures smartphone manufacturers, provided consumer research firm , shows that the Android operating system has increased its market share in the United States by more than 11 percentage points compared with last year, the three-month period ending in July of this year. Much of this increase is at the expense of rival iOS, which over the same period has lost 11.8%.


Growth in other markets also impressive, with sales in countries such as Mexico, exceeded the mark of 80% - an increase of 17.6% compared to the 3-month period last year. China, too, is undergoing a significant increase in sales of smartphones based on Android - green robot grew by 8.4% and reached the level of 84.6%. Competing mobile platforms, iOS and Windows Phone, meanwhile, lost 5.6% and 1.5%, respectively.
